Baby Waffle

I’ve recently gotten back into waffle making this past few months. I bought an Oster Belgian Waffle maker about 2 years ago and was discouraged very quickly when I first used it. It’s been sitting in a cupboard ever since. So while I’ve been coming up with ideas to feed Isabella now that she eats real food, I rediscovered the fun and versatile art of waffles! 

Here are a few recipes I modified from older and more basic recipes:

Coconut blueberry waffles

1/2 cup whole wheat flour 

1/2 cup quick oats

1 tsp. baking powder 

1 egg

1 banana

1/2 cup milk 

2 tbsp coconut milk (canned)

1 tsp. vanilla

1/3 cup blueberries 


Raspberry yogurt waffles

1/2 cup whole wheat flour 

1/2 cup quick oats

1 tsp. baking powder

1 egg

1 banana 

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup plain yogurt

1 tsp. vanilla

1/3 cup raspberries 

Banana apple waffles 

1/2 cup whole wheat flour 

1/2 cup quick oats 

1 tsp baking powder 

1 egg 

1 banana 

1/2 cup milk

1/3 cup apple sauce

1 tsp vanilla 


Apple cinnamon oat waffles

1 egg

1 mashed banana

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup apple sauce

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup quick oats

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. vanilla


Baby Pasta Meals

Pasta with pea purée

 You’ll need:

Frozen peas

Spinach

Milk

Garlic

Salt and pepper 

•steam peas

•purée with milk spinach, garlic, salt and pepper to creamy consistency 

•add to small pasta

Pasta with cauliflower purée 

You’ll need:

Cauliflower florets

Parmesan cheese

Milk

Salt and pepper

•steam cauliflower florets

•purée with milk, Parmesan, salt and pepper to creamy consistency 

•add to small pasta 


Pasta with butternut squash 

 You’ll need:

Butternut squash(you can use frozen cubes)

Milk

Garlic

Shredded cheddar cheese 

Salt and pepper

•steam or roast butternut squash 

•purée with milk, garlic, salt and pepper to creamy consistency 

•add cheddar cheese and stir until melted

•add to small pasta

Baby Led Weaning Pancakes

Red

1 mashed banana

1 egg

1/4 cup raspberries 

1/3 cup oat cereal

Blend together

Blue

1 mashed banana (adds sweetness and moisture)

1 egg

1/4 cup blueberries 

1/3 cup oat cereal

Blend together 

Green

1 mashed banana

1 egg

1 cup baby spinach 

1/3 cup oat cereal

Blend together

Plain

1 mashed banana

1 egg

1/3 cup oat cereal

1/4 almond milk

Add on- 1/4 cup apple sauce, mashed raspberries, 1/4 peanut butter

Smoothie recipes for meal replacement 

I only replace ONE meal a day if I can. But mostly because I’ve always struggled with eating too big of portions. And these smoothies are always packed with protein and nutrients from veggies and fruit. I also add quick oats to fill me up. 

Recipes:

Go Green

1 cup Unsweetened almond milk 

1 tbs. Quick oats

1 tbs. Natural peanut butter

1 tbs. Plain Greek yogurt 

Half frozen banana

1/2 cup baby spinach 

2 tsp. Real maple syrup 

Go Red

1 cup unsweetened almond milk
