About me

Hey guys, I’m Amanda, a mother of two, and I live in a small town in Ontario Canada. I have a passion for writing and sharing my mommy experiences in hopes that you can relate and find comfort knowing I’m here to help. We are all in this crazy motherhood journey together!

Let me start here…

I met Tristan in 2007 when we were both 19, in Wasaga Beach Ontario. It was basically a neutral spot between the towns we were both from. We had an instant connection and when we were 23, we started living together. We struggled like all young couples do at the beginning, renting a basement apartment and trying to advance in our careers. We were almost care free until 4 years later, we were surprised with our son Jackson. He came on October 30, 2015, our favourite time of year.

My career before motherhood was all about the hair industry and working hard behind the chair. I spent a lot of time and money on education to master my craft and I’ve learned so much along the way, worked with many talented people who brought out the best artist in me. I’ll always be grateful for the amazing opportunities and growth I’ve had through the years. But of course once I had my first child, I had to put it all aside. My role had switched to full time mommy for Jackson’s first year. and obviously I don’t regret one thing.

As Jackson got older and started school, he became more independent and I was able to focus on my career again. Building my business back up and growing again, I was starting to feel more comfortable with my life. But still, something was missing. Maybe someone…

Tristan and I decided to expand our family so that Jackson could have a sibling and someone to share his childhood with. After a few years of trying without success, FINALLY we conceived Isabella! She came on March 28, 2015. We waited for the birth to find out the gender but I think we both knew deep down, she was our Bella.

Today, I’m a mother of two sweet tiny humans who love my snuggles, and a partner that still keeps me busting a gut with laughter and thinks I’m beautiful, after 2 pregnancies and stretchmarks.

When I’m not doing daily chores or feeding and changing a baby, I’m busy creating content and writing about anything and everything that will help other mamas say “I see you, and I have been there” and help you to relate to someone who is where you are now. Being a mom is hard, adulting is hard. We are all just doing our best here. Let’s give ourselves and others some grace! That’s why I’m writing.

So that’s a little back story on my life so far! There are many more updates as the year goes on, and I can’t wait to share it with you all in my blog!
